What a way to reply to my scathing diatribe against the gunners. Every player showed a resolve and class capable of winning the Champions League. There was drive lacking in premiership games.
It does seem to be true that a team cannot fight on all fronts. There are many examples over the last few seasons which I won't bore you with.

From Australia. And I can stop thinking about her. Yes, can is the right word, but I still find myself thinking about her on a quiet moment. Thank you Em. It's better than thinking of the rut I am in at the moment.

I keep thinking about the dog I gave up after two days. Poor little thing but I didn't have the patience to deal with it 24/7. Have I any resolve? It didn't help that it was a mutt. I think I need a docile pure breed. A pedigree Alaskan malamute. But still I have something to prove to show I have an aspect other than continuous introspection.

Right, forget rememberances.

This BBC Hyperdrive was quite funny wasn't it? Albeit, it was hit and miss, but it was more hit than miss. 'Gary Neville day' - genius.

And now, American Dad. Good but not a patch on Family Guy. Which I believe is better than the Simpsons. And some of these new South Parks were fucking genius. Ahh...

Summary:

Arsenal are doing terribly. We need a core of British players with the resolve and talent to hold games and stimulate the team into a more dominant force. Not all these french speaking fancy passing tossers. They have great talent yes, but the ludicrous wages are an anti-incentive to add a physical side to their game. Wenger keeps buying flimsy frenchies and lets homegrown talent get away! Pennant: doing well at Birmingham. Bentley: same for Blackburn - scored a hat trick for crissakes! I'm no BNP nobhead and I believe that anyone can do a job - Adebayor for instance looks top class and strong - but all these new nobodies that he keeps signing: long term strategy, check; short term stategy, failed.
There are too many problems to mention but I'll rate some of the players herein.

Ljungberg: great drive and determination but his runs are old news to any premiership defender. Will score a load in the Champions League though. 7/10.

Van Persie: top draw, just needs to be match fit 100% all the time. 10/10.

Pires: where's the heart gone? ?/10

Henry: confused as whether to stay or join Ronaldinhio. Has no drive and motivation for the rest of the team. Not a suitable captain. He joins the rest of us in missing Vieira. Against a weak team: he's unstoppable. Playing tough teams: wilts like the rest of the team. ?/10

Fabregas and Reyes: excellent but seem to be wondering if the Arsenal that they're playing for is the real one. "Ce? This is the right London club, right?" Reyes has been demoralised by all the strikers that have been bought. Wenger can and does change players positions (eg Toure, Henry, etc) but I enjoyed Reyes up front. Reyes and Van Persie? Match made in heaven. Cesc: dynamite. Will be a Spanish 1st team regular. 10/10 each.

Flamini, Eboue, etc: We've let Justin Hoyte, Bentley etc go why? Flamini did have a good game against Liverpool but still. 4/10

Lehmann: good form at the moment. 9/10. still a crazy kraut when it comes to getting angry! That injury that didn't get the ref's attention was priceless!

Gilberto: plays for Brazil but won't be remembered as a great. 5/10

Hleb: class, but needs to learn from Freddie and Pires, and Bergkamp while we're at it. 7.5/10

Lauren: best attacking right back there is. A black Lee Dixon sometimes. Shame he's getting old. 8/10

Cole and Campbell: how the mighty have fallen. Cole's waitin for both his foot and his relationship with Arsenal to mend and hopes he can get some more money. If not, he's off to cunts Chelski. Laying around, £90k a week, nobbing Cheryl Tweedy... I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks his foot over and over, each month. Sol Campbell: poor lad. Been through a lot and lack of match fitness has destroyed his game. I for one want to see this phoenix rise from the ashes. _/10 and _/10 respectively.

I'm off now cos it's 5am.

Viva the Arsenal.

P.S. Come on England Cricket team.

It's been a while since my last post- not that anyone reads them -but blogs are very...therapeutic isn't the word but... They're good to alleviate something.
I've been lethargic at best over the past few days, creativity has been lacking but my dreams have been rather exciting. I'm increasingly becoming withdrawn from the right sleep pattern. I'm up til 4 and not really tired. I sleep til 3 or 4 in the evening. Night time is when I'm most creative but I get drained by distractions: late night drama such as Kingpin or Oz (what season are they on now? Last season I saw was 5 I think...Fuckin' McManus). The many vagaries of the internet; videogames I've already completed- goddammit why can't videogames be free? -and other stuff.

But fuck it. Here's my observations for today.
Mediocre win by England over Wales.
Richie Benaud's last commentry stint at Lord's: what a character, he'll be missed on the airwaves. Can't you bottle up his charisma and wit and inject it into the grey and lifeless BSkyB commentators. Gower, Beefy and Bumble are alright, but the rest... Ker-rist! Not a patch on channel 4's charm and witticism.
Should we risk Jones? The king of reverse swing? Or slot Collingwood in? Tremlett: an unproven test player? Decisions, decisions. After all, we MUST win the ashes against all costs barring injury to the England boyos.

And now blogging mode has forsaken me in a haze of blase. That's 'bla-zay' but there's no little dash over the e button.

My work is vibrant and mentally stimulating but the market somehow, does not want to see it next to bloody Potter or the new writers winning awards.
Here is an excerpt (I hope I spelt that right! he he) from a short story about a nihilistic youth who cuts his wrists for the hell of it. I'll edit it so that it's not the final cut (so to speak)

Sol stood about fifteen feet away from the shore - stroking one of his forearms - wrapped up in their private silence of the beach. His eyes drank up her flowing form but a feeling of melancholic anguish swept over him and he looked to the right where Alec was thigh deep in the placid water.
He began to notice his friend.
Alec’s hair had grown a bit and covered his eyes as he gazed with a tilted head into the middle distance, beyond the horizon. The sun silhouetted his body and made his youthful features seem more defined. Indeed, Alec resembled something other than an adolescent male as he stood sedately in the water’s midst. He was almost Nietzsche like: almost beyond the ache of humanity. For a split second, Sol thought he made out a large intricate marking on his back. Alec breathed deeply and the moment passed.
Sol felt an urge to join him. He removed his top and shoes and waded towards him. The water was warm. His feet felt soothed but the water that seemed innocuous on land, was strong and restricting to his stride. A vision of coagulating blood flashed before his eyes and he was suddenly by the side of Alec, thigh deep in the sun kissed ocean. He seemed taller, somehow. They both kept silent.
